Description
An enzyme found in the liver, heart, and muscles. Together with ALT, it helps assess liver health and is also used in evaluating heart conditions.
When to Take This Test
- Checking liver health (usually alongside ALT)
- Monitoring medications
- Assessing heart and muscle conditions
Preparation
- On an empty stomach, 8–12 hours without food
- No alcohol or fatty food for a day beforehand
- No strenuous exercise the day before
