Description
PCR detection of the DNA of several helminths (intestinal worms) in stool in a single test. Helps find parasites, including when worm eggs are hard to detect in stool.
When to Take This Test
- Abdominal pain, bloating, stool changes
- Preventive screening, including for children
- As directed by your doctor
Preparation
- Collect a fresh stool sample in a sterile container
- Don't take the test after an enema, barium X-ray, or laxatives
