Description
First-trimester screening (usually 11–13 weeks): a blood test (PAPP-A, β-hCG) combined with ultrasound calculates the risk of fetal chromosomal abnormalities (Down syndrome and others).
When to Take This Test
- Pregnancy at 11–13 weeks
- Assessing the risk of chromosomal abnormalities
- As ordered by an obstetrician-gynecologist
Preparation
- Take at the recommended stage of pregnancy
- Bring your ultrasound data, weight, and gestational age
- Fasting is preferred
