When to Take This Test
- Assessing blood clotting (coagulation panel)
- Before surgery, during pregnancy
- Monitoring a tendency toward blood clots or bleeding
Preparation
- Fasting, 8–12 hours
- Tell your doctor about any blood-thinning medications
